Garces invites the public to celebrate fall at Tinto with "¡Txotx!" a fall cider and tapas tasting. "¡Txotx!" (pronounced "Choach") is traditionally called out at Sadartodegis, or cider houses, in the Basque country upon the tapping of a fresh barrel of cider. Tinto is bringing the txotx spirit to Philadelphia this Sunday, October 16th with an evening featuring traditional ciders, wines and food from Basque country.

This fun, casual and interactive event will give guests the opportunity to sample a variety of ciders and wines and ask questions at expert-led tasting stations from 3:00-6:00PM. The Tinto chefs will provide cheeses, traditional tapas and whole roasted pigs. Guests can try their hand at “throwing” cider, a style of pouring and aerating the cider to enhance its natural carbonation, with prizes for the top throwers.

$55 per person, including tax and gratuity. Tickets are available HERE

In partnership with Cotton Incorporated’s Blue Jeans Go Green denim recycling program, South Moon Under has announced a fall denim drive as part of their 12th annual Denim Event. From now through October 24th the boutique will offer 20% off all denim purchases and collect unwanted denim. The Blue Jeans Go Green program is recycled into UltraTouch Denim Insulation through Bonded Logic, and a portion of this insulation is in turn distributed to organizations such as Habitat for Humanity to help communities in need.

Since it’s inception in 2006, the Blue Jeans Go Green denim-recycling program has collected over one million pieces of denim and the insulation has been distributed to help many communities in need. The UltraTouch Denim Insulation is composed of 80 percent recycled cotton fibers, is environmentally safe, has 30% better sound perception, resists mold and mildew, and doesn’t contain volatile chemicals. Approximately 250,000 square feet of insulation are distributed each year, and the Blue Jeans Go Green program has diverted over 600 tons of waste from landfills since its inception.
